On wendsday of march 22 I went to ROme new york and that was run down,then I Went toOneida, then I Went to SYRACUSE and I went to 3 malls in syracuse andone of the mallsin Syracuse I went to was huge and it had 3 levels and had Lord andtaylor, kauffman's,CIrcuit city, Best buy, old navy, borders, compusa, sports authority,jc penny, and ithad a carousel near the food court and had a glass elevator. I went toa suburb calledCicero and it had a super wal-mart that is new, home depot, lowe's,burlington coat andeven an arby's that had an old sign called great roast beef A Toys r usI went to in asuburb called Clay was BROWN AND HAD THE OLD TOYS R US LOOK. in claywas target, bedbath beyond, wal-mart, sam's, circuit city, barnes and noble, megamrashalls, ac moore,the mall I Went to in clay was average sized, but had a vacant bon tonbut it had sears,kauffmanns and old navy, I wbent to a christmas tree shops in syracuse.the traffic insyracuse was not bad. This mall i went to in dewitt had weird layoutand it hadkauffmann's, dick's, jc penny and sears and near it was mega marshallsand down the roadwas a different looking target. I SAW A closed Toys r us in dewitt nerathe mall nearthe k-mart and mega marshalls. I went to more of syracuse and therewere big buildings,a shopping area with bon-ton near a new lowe's and near it a When Idrove throughsyracuse at night, this person ran to my car and yelled hay hay. Istayed in a motel incortland. I SAW A SUPERMARKET CHAIN FOR THE FIRST TIME: WEGMAN'S!On thrusday of march 23 I went to Cortland and there was a small JCpenny near a smallKmart and Wal-mart was right next to them. I THEN WENT TO ITHACA AND ITIS A BEAUTIFULTOWN WITH A BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS! Ther was a mall I went to there that wassmall and had atarget, borders, dick's, best buy, sears, bon ton and a vacant ames. Ithen wente to asmall nice lake town called WAtkins Glen and tere was a super wal-martthere for somereason and it was the size of the one here and an arby's was next toit. I then wenmt tobath new york, then to painted post and a vacant k-mart was there. Ithen went to ELmiraand it was an older town and the mall there was old. the toys r usacross had the oldstyle look!!! I then went to Binghampton which is a nice town and IWENT TO A chaincalled Boscov's there (I had been to and seen others on my trip), butthis one was 5levels and had every department (all other boscov's don't have this) including toyswhich I bought some of that santa claus is comg to town movie and oldmovies and vrs. Iwnt to a mall there with burlington coat, jc penny, kauffmanns, bon tonand seasr andthe toys r us was purple near it. I stayed i na motel in binghampton.near binghamtonwas vestal and it had a plaz with super wal-mart, barnes nd noble, acmoore, a closingofficemax, and near it was a plaz with target, bed bath beyhond, circitcity, kohl;s anda coming soon parts mart and near it was a plz with olkd navy andmichaels. neaI WENT TOTHE FIRST DICK"S SPORTING GOODS WHICH IS IN BINGHAMTON!!!!On firday of march 24, I wbent to PENNSYLVANIA, I went to sayre,towanda and I went to aben franklin and it was a variety store, I then went to Williamsportand I went to amall ther and saw the labelscar of a woolworth and went to a toys r usfor the firsttime and it was small and white williamsport it was a nice town. I thenwent toLEwisburg that had wal-mart and vacant ames and a staples, bloomsburgand in bloomsburgwas this mall like the steeplgate with bon-ton, sears, jc penny and avacant Ames andnear it was the wal-mart in the plaza as Lowe?s and office Depot andnear that was homedepot. I then went kingston and wilkes-barre and went to a mall therewith kauffmanns,bon-ton, sears, JC penny and there were numerous stores around the mallin wilkes-barreand the toys r us there was blue with glass yellow tinted windows andnear the mall inwilkes-barre was a plaza with target, babies r us, barnes and noble andmany others likedick's sporting goods, best buy, and near it was circuit city and homedepot and lowe'sand kohl's and the super wal-mart. I then went to pittston and scrantonand scranton isa nice town and it had an energy center in downtown and the campus indowntown had abridge over it and I Went to this mall there and it was laid outwierdly and part of themall conected to across the street and it was 2 levels with 90 storeand bon ton andboscov?s and was called mall at steamtown and had steve and barrys. Iwent to anothermall that was small (With jc penny, sears and kauffmanns) in scrantonand many storeswere near it and the toys r us there was big and white. all the storeswere on hillsthat were on top of one another and there was kohl's, best buy, lowe?s,home depot,borders, kmart, wal-mart and a vacant wal-mart since it moved to abigger store,weggmans, kohl's and many others. I then went to Tukkorkunk and stayedat a motel there.I saw a chain for the forst time cvalled weis' supermarketon saturday of march 25, i went to hornsdale pa and wal-mart and homedepot there wereon a hill and at the bottom was a nice k-mart, monticello ny, libertyny, milford pa andit had ak-mart vacant grand union, staples super wal-mart, middletownny and there Iwent to this huge 2 level mall with target, sears, jc penny , dick'ssporting goods,filene's and many others and the traffic aroudn there was bad and inmiddletown I saw avacant Caldor, I went to a toys r us that was big and white and went tosuper wal-martnear it and in that plaza was kohl's, marshalls, staples and in thetoys r us plaza isbabies r us, a vacant media play etc and many other stores like gandermountain and samswere near the middletown mall near the mall was best buy and near thetoys r us wascircuit city. I then went to newburgh and went to a new target there, asmall mall withbon-ton, sears and old navy amd down road was a new target, a lowe?sacross home depot,a super wal-mart that was busy, Michaels and barnes and noble. I thenwent to newwindsor, then to POUGHKEEPSIE AND A LOT OF STORES WERE there and it hadones like a homedepot under construction in an old mall, best buy, borders, home depot,lowe's, petcowal-mart, sam's, hannaford, cirucit city and MANy other stores andthere were 2 mallsnext to each other one was really old with k-mart, a vacant servicemerchandise, avacant media play, burlington coat factory, a closing officemax, pricechopper but manysmaller stores were there adnm the mall next to it was huge and it was2 levels withsears, jc penny, target, best buy, filene's, dick's etc and it had 130stores and themall is huge. then up the road was a toys r us that is big and purpleand appears tohave been remodeled, tj maxx, bed bath beyond etc. up the road on 44was an older k-martand anearby stop and shop. then I went to kingston and I went to thismedium sized mallwith target, dick's, best buy, sears, jc penny and filene's. near itwas a plaza withstores on top of each other and that plaza had toys r us that is smalland white, gandermountain, super wal-mart, lowe's, linens n things. near it wasburlington coat factory,sports authority, office depot, staples, barnes and noble etc. I thenwent to catskilland hudson that was smaller town, and stayed in a motel on the mass/nyborder. That dayI saw a super market chain for the first: shop rite.on sunday of march 26 I went to KEene to this new Target and got homeat 12:30 pm.WHAT did you all do on your vacation. williamsport PA, which is 8 hours fromplymouth.edu is the farther I have driven myself. I got my licence inAugust 2002. Ibrought clothes alogna nd called my parents and had food at arbys, mcdsand a pizzaplace.I listed to many songtracks of movies. The trip seemed long and I wasstarting to misshome! The McDonald?sin Freeport looked like a house and the outlet stores were likedowntown. On March 20,Monday (FOR SPRING BREAK) I went, by myself, on a mini-vacation to theremaining part ofthe Albany area I have never seen (I went to Albany last summer), theMiddletown/NewburghPoughkeepsie/ Kingston NY Area, Binghamton NY, Elmira NY, Williamsport PA,Scranton/Wilkes-Barre PA area and this new Target in Keene. But I couldnot stay thewhole 10 days of the vacation, but I had an exam that may be hard onthe Wednesday we getback at 11:15 and I need to study hard for it and I thought the weatherwould be bad andI wanted to leave while there was a full day.. Ras? temporarily saves the computer with thewatersprinkelers, but an electricwire hits the Lazarus pit, causing the place to blow up with Ras alGhul in it. Bruce andbatman barley escape. By the way Filene's will all become Macy's soon and so will allkauffmann's etc. Nordstrom (the only Nordstrom I have been to is inProvidence place) iscoming to burlington, north shore and south shore malls, those mallsare in Massachusettsand one is coming to Natick mall next year.I had only been to 5 Caldors in my lifetime and I did not know untillast year that someof the older ones had a rainbow above the small orange letters (But Isaw the labelscarof the rainbow above the Caldor in an Ames that was a Caldor inStoneham mass 5 yearsago, I only knew it was a Caldor because I was told that and the backentrance of thatAmes had the Caldor label scar (mark). Like Bradlees in Salem NH,Nashua, Plaistow andPortsmouth and Westbrook Maine and Chelmsford, North Andover, Woburnmass became Kohl?s.Some became Stop and Shop (Stop and shop used to own Bradlees, until1992) a few becameTarget. Some became Wal-mart (like Bradlees in Keene became Wal-martand that Bradlees inKeene was clean and big). What I want to know is what was the Bradleesin Lewiston, Mainelike, I heard it was in the mall where the cinema and Staples are? Theoldest Bradlees Iever went to was the one in downtown Nashua and I heard it was built in1962 and thestore had the lettering on top, had glass windows, a metal floors andthe stairs to go tothe bathroom were wooden, but the wallpaper was the same as mostBradlees (Grey wallpaperand the in the past the wallpaper must have been old colors) so theymust have repaintedit, there was another Bradlees in Nashua in this mall that hasChristmas Tree Shops andthat Bradlees is now a Kohl?s and that Bradlees was old looking too andI remember thewallpaper being old school for that one. Was any of your Bradlees dumpylooking and darkand dingy inside? I heard their first store was in New London CT. A lotof Bradlees andCaldors have become stuff and few have been vacant still. In the Bradlees brochure how come itlisted certain storesas this product is not available in this store (The ones in Dennisportand Fields corner(a part of Dorchester that is a part of Boston) mass were listed asstores with thisproduct not available). A chain called Service Merchandise existed, onewas in ManchesterNH, but in the end they cut down half their merchandise categories. Doyou remember theold School Toys r us? stores: they had a brownfront and the lettering had a orange T, a yellow O, a light Blue Y, apink S a Backwards yellow R, a orange U and a light blue S with thegiraffe near the lettering, and on the bottom of the lettering was arainbow colored entrance and some had a orange square box say entranceor children?sbargaintown and the rest of the building was dark stoney white and hada black glassexit. Were any of your Toys r us? that way, the one in Woburn mass wasthat way the lasttime I saw it in 2000 and the one in Bangor Maine was when I last sawit in 1999 andthe one in Revere that closed was that way except the brown was white.They did awaywith that look. I remember the one in Lebanon NH gettingremodeled andexpanded and then they had a new logo: red K with mart in side and nowthe new logo isRed Kmart letters in lower case (I saw that the one in Newburyport massis that way). The new Targets have a sleekerlook and haveStarbucks as well as Pizza hut express in them. Shaw?s now have Oscopharmacy andsometimes Dunkin Donuts. Stop and Shop now has a new store look: theirstores are tanand in black letters say super stop and shop and have glass windowentrances in twoentrances. The new Hannafords have glass windows that are tinted greennow! A lot ofthese new stores havedunkin donuts or subway in them. A lot of these supermarkets areexpanding their stores.
